Unforgettable memories and amazing photo opportunities

If you’ve always wanted to go whale watching, our 4.5-hour safari features breathtaking encounters with New Zealand marine wildlife, including whales, dolphins, seals, rare seabirds and more!

Start your tour from the Viaduct Harbour in downtown central Auckland and explore the natural beauty of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park on our purpose-built, 65-foot (20-metre) marine research vessel.

Why is our whale and dolphin watching safari unique?

  • We're the only whale and dolphin watching safari operating directly from a New Zealand city
  • Your ticket purchase directly contributes to marine conservation initiatives
  • You’re hosted by expert marine researchers who conduct biological studies during your tour and will share their knowledge with you
  • We privately fund and support marine wildlife studies through universities, trusts and government departments

What if I don’t see any whales or dolphins?

We back this unique and interactive encounter experience with our industry-leading Sighting Guarantee – if you don’t see marine mammals you come back again for FREE. It’s as simple as that.

What marine wildlife will I see?

On a typical safari you can expect to see Bryde’s whales and common and bottlenose dolphins. Depending on the time of the year, you may spot blue, humpback, minke, sei, pilot, beaked, sperm or southern right whales. And watch out for leopard seals, New Zealand fur seals, sharks, turtles, manta rays and the amazing orca. The Hauraki Gulf also has 26 species of seabird, including the delightful little blue penguin.
