February 2019 - Safari Sightings
We had some absolutely stunning weather (and some not so nice!) here in the Hauraki Gulf over the course of February. We absolutely love those windless, sunny days spent finding marine mammals for our passengers (and us) to enjoy.
Throughout the month we have had groups of common dolphins displaying a wide range of behaviours including feeding, resting and socialising. It is at this time of year when the dolphins can afford to spend a little less time feeding thanks to the warmer water enabling them to maintain their blubber (fat) layer better than in the cooler months. In addition to the common dolphins we also had a couple of visits from the Bryde's whales.

Right at the end of the month, we were visited by a group of 5 orca who we managed to see two days in a row!
Picture perfect orca!
